Art education

On Wednesday, June 8, SAGA is pleased to present A Saskatchewan Mystery: The Case of the Crooked Aspen by Dr. Bill Remphreys on the subject of the current Ken Dalgarno exhibition The Crooked Trees of Alticane. Talk starts at 7 p.m. Admission is by donation.

WOW warm-up

Sullivan campus students present a musical medley Wednesday, June 8 at 6:45 p.m. at the gazebo in Marine Park. Admission by donation.

The official Wednesday on the Wharf schedule begins June 15 and is the perfect outing for everyone in the family. Concerts start at 6:45 p.m. and the first performance will be from the  F-Holes followed by Cod Gone Wild on June 22.

Jazz it up

On Thursday, June 9, SAGA Public Art Gallery Jazz Club features Gadjology, gypsy jazz with Willy Gaw, Jacob Verburg, Dick Owings and Bill Lockie. Show runs from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is by donation.

Cast on

The Odd Socks, a knitting circle, meets Friday, June 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the SAGA Public Art Gallery lounge. All are welcome to attend.

Evening at the improv

On Saturday, June 11 this popular group will present another hilarious Improv Evening at the Shuswap Theatre. Admission is $5 at the door. Join the troupe at 7 p.m. for happy hour and the improv action starts at 8 p.m. Don’t miss it.

Music at the gallery

Folk music fans take note. Steve Brockley will be playing a concert Sunday, June 12 at the SAGA Public Art Gallery. Show starts at 7 p.m. Admission is $10.

Java Jive performance

On Thursda, June 16, Folk Thief and My Boy Rascal will play at Java Jive Neighbourhood Bistro (190A Trans-Canada Highway NE) at 7 p.m.

Hard rock at pub

British Columbia native hard rockers Cold Driven will perform Saturday, June 18 at the Sturgis North Pub (formerly Old Dog Pub.)

CD release party

Danielle Prince will release her first CD “Gone” with Tracy Jones at a celebration Friday, June 24 at the SAGA Public Art Gallery. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the performance begins at 7. Admission is $5 per person or $20 for an admission package featuring a CD plus admission. For info, contact Danielle at missprince@live.com.
