It hardly seems possible, but Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy will all be together in one place in Surrey this Saturday.
Well, perhaps not in the flesh, but definitely on the big screen.
Rise of the Guardians is the second movie in the Movies Under the Stars series in Holland Park, and will be shown Aug. 10.
The animated action movie teams up the classic childhood legends, who are on a mission to protect the hopes and imagination of children from the evil spirit Pitch and his infectious nightmares.
The movie will start at dusk, but as usual, everyone is invited to come early. Entertainment and family activities start at 5 p.m. This week, Surrey Libraries’ Children’s Storyteller will entertain and inspire children of all ages with puppets, songs, and stories. Plus, there will be a special surprise at 8 p.m. that shouldn’t be missed.
North Surrey Lions will once again have a barbecue on site, with all proceeds benefiting local charities, including the North Surrey Lions Elementary School Book Program and KidSport.
There will also be an opportunity for movie-goers to win tickets to see Dora the Explorer Live at the Bell Centre on Oct. 12, as well as participate in audience draws to win prizes donated by local businesses.
Movies Under the Stars continues through August, with Kung Fu Panda 2 on Aug. 17, The Croods on Aug. 24 and Bollywood Under the Stars on Aug. 31.
All movies are shown at Holland Park, across from Central City Shopping Centre at King George Boulevard and Old Yale Road.
