Fat City Swing is coming at you loud, fast and out of control with the talented rockabilly sensation, Howard Rix and His Lucky Stars, for one night only on Friday, March 18 at the West Langley Hall, 9400 – 208 Street, Langley.
Howard Rix is every ’50s rock icon rolled into one. This “greaser” in his white T, blue jean, leather jacket and ducktail, is magic on the microphone. Rounding out this formidable band is rockabilly hall-of-famer Ray Condo, Steve Nickleva, Jimmy Roy, and Michael Van Eyes, who rivals Jerry Lee Lewis on piano. Whether it’s “three in the tree” or “four on the floor” our lake pipes will be roaring flat out on the 18th. Coming at you doing “a hundred and forty with the top end floored”, this promises to be a great night of high energy rockabilly and rock ‘n’ roll like Langley has never seen before.
Admission is $15 or $13 for students with valid ID. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., an introductory swing dance lesson is at 8 p.m., with the band sweeping the stage from 9 till 11:30 p.m. This is an all ages event brought to you by Fat City Swing.
