They’ve opened for Chris Isaak this year, and now Sister Speak is coming to the North Okanagan, playing Lorenzo’s Cafe tonight.
The San Diego, Calif.-based band has had a busy year, having just released their debut album and opening for Isaak earlier this summer.
After a major injury, singer-songwriter Sherri Anne came home to Vernon to recover and will now lead Sister Speak back to their roots with a 17-day tour across British Columbia.
“We are set to tour B.C. with the full band, the same band who tracked on our debut Rise Up For Love album which has been airing on CBC, European radio and 60-plus more stations across the U.S. and western Canada,” said Sherri Anne. “The album was recorded with two Grammy-winning engineers at the helm — producer/engineer Alan Sanderson (Fiona Apple, Elton John) and mastering engineer Brian Lucey (Black Keys). Almost all these songs were written in Vernon while I was recovering from a major pelvis break in 2012.”
