Steve Patterson, the affable host of CBC Radios’s weekly comedy show The Debaters is coming to Campbell River.
Patterson will be at the Tidemark Theatre on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
Patterson was named 2013 Male Stand-Up Comedian of the Year at the Canadian Comedy Awards held this year in Ottawa, Oct. 3-6.
The comedy industry has been celebrating their own with annual presentations in a wide variety of categories since 2000.
This is the second time in three years Patterson has been recognized as Best Stand-Up. Which to many, is no surprise: “one of this country’s sharpest wits” according to the Montreal Gazette and “wickedly funny” writes the Halifax Chronicle Herald; and in the Globe and Mail, “Be it resolved that whip-smart Canadian comic Steve Patterson, host of the hilarious CBC radio show The Debaters, is one funny fellow.” And finally, “If degrees were granted in the study of humour, he would hold a PhD.” – HERE.
In November, Patterson begins the third leg of a national tour with his 90-minute one man show – “This Is Not Debatable!”
With his hallmark gift for capturing a funny turn of phrase, he gleefully seizes the opportunity to express opinions he doesn’t get to voice as moderator of The Debaters, throwing in a couple of original satirical songs to boot. A full throttle, pedal to the metal ride.
Reserved seating tickets for Steve Patterson – “This Is Not Debatable!” are $42 (tax and facility fees included, handling charges may apply), and are available at the Tidemark box office Tuesday-Saturday between 12 and 4 p.m. or by calling 250-287-7465. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. For more information, pictures and comedy clips, visit www.shantero.com or www.stevepatterson.ca
