Strings the Thing is an annual string camp at the Shatford Centre in Penticton with close to 25 students from the Okanagan, the Fraser Valley and Washington.

The camp focuses on chamber music, an orchestra component, seminars and masterclasses. The students range in age from six to 66 and ability from beginner to advanced.  Former members of the camp have gone on to various university programs, and some are regularly playing in professional orchestras.

The music camp is both a positive learning environment and a celebration of great music as the students explore the challenges of making music together.

The faculty concert will take place on July 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Shatford Centre, 760 Main St. Tickets are available at the door. Adults are $15, $12 for OSA members and students are $5. For more information call 250-770-7668
