The three day event (June 1 to 3) features a wide variety of musical artists, international recording artists and top tribute acts performing the songs of Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young and Motley Crue. Also performing will be top Okanagan and Interior recording artists, bands and indie artists.

The festival is free for the public with a bulk of the musical performances taking place at Summerland City Park.

On Friday the opening festivities begin at 6 p.m. at the park with Hotsands beach (R&B/retro rock), followed by Scissor Kick at 7:15 p.m., Worms Hate Rain at 8 p.m., The Led Zeppelin Show at 9 p.m. and a fireworks display at 10:20 p.m.

Saturday is youth, teen and family day starting with the FortisBC Action Festival parade with Miss Action Fest Sascha Perry-Fagant greeting everyone along the parade route along with Summerland Mayor Janice Perrino and other local dignitaries, businesses, floats and entertainment. The parade starts at 10 a.m. and travels from Summerland Arena, along Rosedale Avenue, down Main Street, north on Victoria Road and back to the arena.

Entertainment starts in City Park on Saturday at 11 a.m. with popular Summerland youth performer Tina Ferlizza kicking off events at city park. She will be followed by another Summerland youth performer Mariah at 11:30 a.m. then the finalists from the Kids Have Talent 2012 contest at noon. At 1:40 p.m. Donovan Sweet (80’s theme rock), Crazy Hearts Blue Grass Band at 2:30 p.m., Pink Torpedo (80s tribute act) at 3:30 p.m. and Random Act (80’s funk and disco hits) at 4:30 p.m.

Headlining the day is Henry Small, an international recording artist who was a vocalist for Prism, the Burton Cummings Band and John Entwistle Band.

The final day of the festival starts on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. with the Summerland School of Dance on the stage followed by Blue Healer (classic rock and retro hits) at 12:15 p.m., Forever Young (Neil Young tribute act) at 1:15 p.m., Worms Hate Rain at 2:40 p.m. and the final act of the day at 4 p.m. is Aerosmith Rocks (award-winning Aerosmith tribute act).

The festival also provides a weekend of family fun, entertainment, a slo pitch tournament, a children’s carnival, Giants Head Run and a Man of Steel triathlon.
