Feb. 10 — Singer-songwriter John Cruz is one of Hawaii’s most popular artists, thanks to his endlessly summery, serene island style of music, which sounds pretty much exactly how you might expect. Coming to the Dream Café.

Feb. 11 — Swingers And Sleaze Ball at VooDoo’s. Remember the 70s? Well if you don’t heres your chance to get down, get dirty and get dancing. Jesse longbear presents a different take on Valentine’s Day with this 1970s themed bash. Special DJs, photo booth and prizes for best costume.

Feb. 15 — Jesse Dee & Jacquie B have been likened to the Grateful Dead, in their folk rock pursuits, but if you ask them they’ll be a bit more humble and say they’re somewhere between Luke Doucet and Ani DiFranco.  On stage at 7:30 p.m. in the Penticton Art Gallery.

Feb. 26 — The Youth Symphony of the Okanagan comes to Penticton for a concert at 3 p.m. in Cleland Theatre, featuring violin soloists Vincent Li and Rebecca Ruthven. Music repertoire includes works by Morawetz, Sarasate, Grieg, Chausson, and Beethoven. Tickets are $15 adults, $10 seniors and youth 13-18, and $5 for children 12 and under.  They will be available at Penticton Academy of Music and at the door on the day of the performance.

Plays, galleries and events

Feb. 10 — Visit the Penticton Art Gallery for two exhibitions, Glenn Clark: First Person Narrativeand Caroline Anders: Chelmsford, continuing through March 18.

Feb. 10 — Storybook Landscapes, an installation with a Celtic theme by Stephen Prouse andTowards the Light, landscape oil paintings by Margaret Munn continue at the Summerland Art Gallery until March 3.

Feb. 11 — Have you been neglecting your vinyl? If you love it, set it free! Donate your used records to Peach City Radio’s For the Love of Vinyl Drive. Your donations of gently used records will help the society build a repertoire of music as well as assist with promotions and fundraising efforts. Contact promotions@peachcityradio.org or 250-488-9551 to arrange a pickup/dropoff.  You can also support Peach City Radio by attending a Valentine’s DJ night at the Elite at 8 p.m..
