On Sunday, Dec. 15, Tapestry Women’s Choir celebrates the Christmas season by presenting two concerts in honour of Armstrong’s 100th birthday.
Entitled 100 Years of Christmas: A Centennial Celebration, every selection on the program has been chosen to represent the spirit and style of its decade.
“From traditional favourites to modern pop numbers, there are songs to evoke memories for every member of the family,” said Tapestry member Dorianne Kohl.
The choir’s special guest for this centennial event will be Armstrong’s historical and heritage expert, Jessie Ann Gamble, who will share unique moments from the city’s history that relate especially to the subjects of Christmas and entertainment as it was at the time.
“Featuring beautiful music, fascinating historical vignettes and an intermission with delicious homemade treats and refreshments, 100 Years of Christmas will be a seasonal treat to delight the senses,” said Kohl.
Two performances take place Dec. 15 at 1:30 and 4 p.m. at Centennial Theatre in Armstrong.
Seating is limited, so be sure to get your tickets early.
Tickets are available from The Brown Derby Café in Armstrong (250-546-8221) and at Hungry Jack’s in Enderby (250-838-6811) or from choir members.
