Surrey author Greg Bauder has released his tenth published book, Sonnets and Poetic Plays.
Bauder, 55, calls the collection “a traditional versed poetry/play book with mostly modern situations” which draws on the study of Milton, Shakespeare and other great writers.
“The sonnets are alternately reverent towards poets but playful as well,” says Bauder, “while the plays go from the sublime to the ridiculous and back again.”
The humour, he adds, prevents the book from being overly serious and the plays are emotionally charged and fun.
Two of his past works – his first novel The Temptress Ariel, and his fourth, Spilt Coffee – are in development to be made into films.
Sonnets and Poetic Plays is currently available only in e-book form from www.chipmunkapublishing.com but will be in paperback within a few months.
