Vancouver’s Terence Jack is coming to Mission Aug. 8, bringing his captivating mix of folk, rock, fund blues and more.
The Vancouver-based musician plays the lap steel guitar, harmonica, electric and acoustic guitar, and will show off his talents on the Envision Financial Twilight Concert Series stage, set up at Fraser River Heritage Park.
Jack is passionate about world travel, and has spent many of his years abroad. Being overseas feeds his inspiration like nothing else, providing the perfect atmosphere to create.
“I play music for the journey of it all,” he said. “I grow, live and will die with music and everything along the way is life.”
The twice-weekly live music continues on Aug. 13, as Pugs and Crowns performs.
Formed in the fall of 2008, the Pugs and Crows perform a blend of original compositions and free improvisations that draw inspiration from a myriad of influences ranging from Argentinian tango music to the compositions of John Zorn. Often characterized as cinematic, the music of the Pugs and Crows takes listeners through a soundscape of songs that can be described as having “a gritty elegance.”
The concert series runs every Wednesday and Friday at Fraser River Heritage Park from now until Aug. 29.
Concert goers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner or treat themselves to a special pre-concert meal at the Blackberry Kitchen or The Log Cabin Café. Admission to the concerts is free, though donations are appreciated.
