Music

Oct. 15 — Vancouver pop-punkers Sightlines come to the Saint-Germain Café and Gallery. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Show is at 7 p.m.

Oct. 15 — Typical Underground plays the Elite After 6.

Oct. 16 — Spend the night with Alice Cooper at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Oct. 19 — Slayer with special guests Anthrax and Death Angel come to the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Oct. 22 — Lorne Elliott will present his newest comedy show at the Venables Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35, $15 for students. Purchase at venablestheatre.ca or at the box office.

Oct. 23 and 24 — Tom and Thompson Wilson and Stephen Fearing come to the Dream Café for a fundraising concert.

Oct. 27 — The Derina Harvey Band, a five-piece rock group with  a high energy show comes to the Osoyoos community theatre. Tickets $23 in advance at Imperial Office in Osoyoos or Sundance Video in Oliver.

Oct. 27 — Zias Stonehouse Restaurant in Summerland is hosting Moonbeams and Halloween From 7 to 9 p.m. A jazz quartet featuring Larry Crawford on Saxophone, Yanti on Vocals, Stefan Bienz on Bass and Allan Crossley on Piano will play some jazz standards with songs about moonlight and others with a Halloweenish theme. $10 cover.

Oct. 31 to Nov. 1 — Matt Andersen comes to the Dream Café for a series of fundraising shows.

Nov. 11 — Canadian rock royalty, The Trews, bring their Time Capsule tour to the Mule Nightclub.

Nov. 11 — Quartango, a group of four musicians and two dancers is performing at the Venables Theatre.

Nov. 17 — Bryan Adams brings The Get Up tour to the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Dec. 2 —Sergei and Nikolai Saratovsky will perform a dynamic concert of well known one piano four hand repertoire including selections from Nutcracker at the Venables Theatre.

Jan. 27 — Remi Bolduc, jazz saxaphonist, with his ensemble with a Tribute to Dave Brubeck at the Venables Theatre.

Feb. 24 — The artistry and impeccable technique of Nancy Dahn and Timothy Steeves on violin and piano as Duo Concertante at the Venables Theatre.

Events

Oct. 7 to 20 — Merle Somerville brings his landscape art inspired by the South Okanagan’s great views to the Front Street Gallery. Somerville joins for the artist opening on Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Oct. 11 to Nov. 7 — Art Harvest at the Nk’Mip Cellars in Osoyoos brings the work of artists of the South Okanagan-Similkameen together from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Oct. 15 — The Community Foundation of the South Okanagan-Similkameen presents their annual comedy festival at the Barking Parrot. This year’s lineup includes Bengt Washburn, Graham Chittenden and Erin Foley. Tickets are $65 and include dinner, a auction and the comedy show. Tickets are available at the Penticton Lakeside Resort.

Oct. 18 — Sweet Dreams Mr. Heroin comes to the Nest and Nectar in Penticton.

Oct. 22 — Nature and Nurture with artist Cindy Smith at the Front Street Gallery. Join the artist for the opening event from 2 to 4 p.m.

Oct. 25 — AlleyCATS Alliance is holding its second Annual Prowl Pub night at Tug’s TaphouseDoors open at 5:30 p.m.. Tickets $20 including choice of burger, side and beverage.
