Sept. 28 — Sax Among Friends will be performing at the Cobblestone Wine Bar and Restaurant at the Naramata Heritage Inn and Spa.

Sept. 28 — The Nailheads with Penticton band White Dress Star at Voodoo’s at 8 p.m.

Sept. 28 and 29 — A regular treat at the Dream Café, Jim Byrnes returns with his roots and blues. Joining him on guitar is Paul Pigat. Tickets are $32.

Sept. 30 — Soulful melodies from Phil Dickson at Voodoo’s at 8 p.m.

Oct. 4 —  World champion fingerstyle guitarist Don Alder at Smith & Company in Penticton at 8 p.m. Tickets $17 for adults, $10 for students.

Oct. 6 — Elvis Evolution will be on stage at the Barley Mill Pub at 8 p.m. Penticton’s very own Adam Fitzpatrick is breaking out his Blue Suede Shoes for a very special one night show.  Tickets available for $10 each.

Oct. 13 — Sarah Hagen is giving a piano recital at 2 p.m. in Saint Saviour’s Church. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for seniors and free for children 12 and under. Purchase at Hooked On Books or the church office.

Nov. 2 — Experience the Beatles with Rain, direct from their phenomenally successful Broadway engagement. Rain is at the South Okanagan Events Centre, for one show at 8 p.m.

Jan. 26 — Canadian country musician Dean Brody brings his Dirt Tour to the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre. Tickets are $39.50 and available at the Penticton & Wine Country Visitors Centre or at www.ValleyFirstTix.com.

Until Sept. 29 — Many Hats Theatre presents Storm Warning. Play runs until Sept. 29 with shows on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $22 for adults and $19 for students and seniors. For more information visit www.manyhatstheatre.com.

Sept. 28 — Artists of the South Okanagan Similkameen present their inaugural show at Nk’Mip Cellars in Osoyoos. Exhibition shows until Oct. 26. Gallery open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Sept. 29 — Thrash Wrestling presents Sealed In Steel at the Penticton Legion at 8 p.m. Halftime performance by Mad Melody Records. Tickets are $10 at the Grooveyard or $15 at the door. Meet and greet after party at Elite After 6.

Sept. 30 — Peach City Community Radio Society present Okanagan Vinyl Festival at the Shatford Centre. Sale is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entrance cost is $2 and early bird access for $5.

Sept. 30 — 16th annual Festival of the Grape from noon to 6 p.m. at the Oliver Community Centre. Delhi 2 Dublin will perform at the new bandstand. Tickets are $23 in advance. For more info visit www.oliverfestivalofthegrape.ca.

Oct. 4 — Tumbleweed Framing and Gallery in Penticton presents 8 Refreshing Flavours. Eight unique visual artists from the South Okanagan. Exhibition opening and meet with the artists from 4 to 9 p.m.

Oct. 4 — Writers Larry Loyie and Constance Brissend at the En’owkin Centre as part of the Canada Council Reading series. Reading at 12:15 p.m., followed by signing at 1:15 p.m. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and welcome address at noon.

Oct. 6 — Julia Mackey’s award winning one woman play Jake’s Gift performed at the Dream Café. Tickets are $20.

Oct.7 — Annual Apple Day at the Keremeos Grist Mill and Gardens. Music, entertainment, interactive presentations, contests, prizes and more on the last weekend the mill will be open to visitors for the 2012 season.

Oct. 14 — Comedian Lorne Elliott performing The Upside of the Downturn at the Centre Stage Theatre in Summerland at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 and available at Martin’s Flowers and the Dragon’s Den. A portion of the proceeds will go towards the creation of the annual George Ryga award for Social Awareness in B.C. writing and Publishing to be awarded in the spring of 2013.

Oct. 20 — For the 13th year the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan is bringing together three comedians including Matt Kirshen, Alonzo Bodden and David Crowe who were on the TV show Last Comic Standing.  Tickets are $60 and include all three acts plus dinner at the Barking Parrot. Oct. 21 — Take an “old bag” to tea at the Barking Parrot for a fundraiser for the Penticton Hospital Auxiliary. English tea and fashion show with clothing from Vintage and Vogue. Tickets $21 before Oct. 15 and after $24. For more info call 250-490-9786.

Oct. 27 — The third annual Oktoberfest at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre. Great beers, mouthwatering foods and tons of fun. Event is from 6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Tickets are $25 or early bird until Sept. 30 $20.

Nov. 8 — Cesar Millan Trust Your Instincts live tour stops at the South Okanagan Events Centre with his brand new seminar.
