The 21st season of the Envision Twilight Concert Series is hosting its second show this Friday night.
The concert series features local acts at Fraser River Heritage Park, 7494 Mary St, in Mission every Wednesday and Friday from 7-8 p.m. until Sept. 2.
This Friday, June 3, the Serenata Singers will be performing.
Serenata Singers, under the direction of Deborah Handley, is an un-auditioned community women’s choir open to all women in the central Fraser Valley with a passion for music and choral singing.
Serenata concerts are noted for adventurous and eccentric programming.
The Art in the Park program will feature glass-blown beadwork and jewelry by Ania Kyte, acrylic painter Donna Duvall, beaded jewelry from Betty Sandmark, and Senada Vehabovic’s metal art silhouettes.
On Wednesday, June 8, Hatzic Secondary School’s Jazz Band and Affirmation Vocal Jazz Choir will be performing from 7-8 p.m.
The Hatzic Secondary Jazz Band, under the direction of Julie Aldridge, is comprised of talented HSS music students, age 13-17, who rehearse diligently both at school and on their own time.
The Art in the Park program will feature Heleen de Boer of Mission Spinners and Weavers Tartan Shoppe, Gina Esche’s natural way to body wellness, and Betty Sandmark’s beaded jewelry.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket to the park.
The Log Cabin Café and the Blackberry Kitchen are open before and during the concert. Admission is free but donations are encouraged.
