If you haven’t tried painting with watecolours before, or have started but would like some great tips to move forward, an upcoming class at the Campbell River Art Gallery with renowned artist Caren Heine will provide all the answers you need.
The class, ‘Beginner Watercolour with Caren Heine,’ runs Tuesdays Oct. 22 to Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Each session, will see students guided through the intricacies of paint mixing and colour, painting surfaces, brushes, washes and much more.
Heine’s classes are relaxed and informal – the perfect place to get started in this exciting medium.
Heine is one of Canada’s most esteemed botanical artists. She primarily paints botanical subjects in watercolour, but is also known for her exquisite architectural and animal subjects which she creates in watercolour, acrylic, or pastel. Heine has exhibited her work for more than 30 years across North America and with the Royal Society of Painters in Miniature in London, England. She has won three commissions from the Canadian Mint, two of which were produced as pure gold coins.
Heine is much sought-after as a teacher for classes and workshops, and her classes fill up in record time so don’t delay signing up for this upcoming opportunity. The cost is $108 plus GST for members of the Campbell River Art Gallery and $118 plus GST for non-members.
