An enchanting evening of Christmas music is in store from the CSO next Saturday night.

Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra and Chorus presents A Family Christmas Concert, Dec. 15 at Chilliwack Cultural Centre.

“This traditional concert will be a seasonal highlight of our concert series,” said music director Paula deWit.

The first half of the concert will showcase dancers from Dance in Motion performing excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. Renowned choreographer Terry McGowan will be directing the dancers, and the second half of the exciting program will spotlight seasonal favourites.

In addition to solo harpist, Mita Otake, the evening’s line-up includes choral and orchestral Christmas selections and a carol sing-along for the audience.

The chorus will be performing What sweeter music, Rutter, Sleigh Ride (arr. M Brymer), O Holy Night (arr. A. Harris), White Christmas (arr. R. Ringwald), and We Wish You a Merry Christmas (arr. A. Harris).

Tickets for Dec. 15 at the Cultural Centre $25, students $15 by phone at 604-391-SHOW (7469), on-line at www.chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or in person at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre box office, 9201 Corbould St.
