The Heritage Park Secondary School Concert Band is kicking off the 2014 Envision Twilight Concert Series on Wednesday, June 4 at Fraser River Heritage Park.

Members of the band won silver at this year’s Heritage Music Festival in San Francisco, and this talented group will bring their high energy and enthusiasm to the show.

Now in its 24th season, the Twilight Concerts bring an eclectic mix of musical genres ranging from barbershop, rock and folk, to Celtic and high school big band to Mission.

Concerts take place every Wednesday and Friday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. until Aug. 29. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner or treat themselves to a special pre-concert meal at the Blackberry Kitchen or Log Cabin Cage.

Admission to the concert is by donation. Audiences are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food or cash donation to support Envision Financial’s Full Cupboard program with benefits to St. Joseph’s Food Bank. To learn more about the program visit thefullcupboard.ca.

On select dates, the Mission Arts Council will be displaying work by local artisans and crafters at the gazebo.

The concerts are presented by the Mission Heritage Association in partnership with Envision Financial.
