It’ll be a night of vaudeville in Cherryville when the Cherryville Drama Club returns to the stage with its  annual arts fundraiser and auction, Oct. 18.

“The dinner theatre production, Vaudeville in Cherryville, will be a dazzling display of heterogeneous splendour, designed to educate, edify, amaze and uplift,” reads a release from the Cherryville Drama Club. “Expect to be surprised and have fun. (It’s) a show for all, tall and small, a perfect family event.”

Taking place in the Cherryville Community Hall, the event includes the not-so silent art auction featuring handmade glass, pottery, painting, photography, sculpture and more donated by members of the Cherryville Artisans Association.

There will also be a special performance by the Diabolical Dolls, and intermission will feature a glass blowing demonstration.

All Fired Up Catering will serve  a three-course meal featuring locally harvested and donated food items that will surely salivate the tongues of any connoisseur.

Vaudeville in Cherryville is a benefit to raise funds for the Cherryville Artisans Association, the Roots and Beets Arts Festival, the artisan youth apprentice program, the Cherryville Farmers Market and all the special events that bring arts and culture to Cherryville.

Those attending are encouraged to wear their best vaudeville attire for a chance to win prizes.

Doors to the hall open at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner starts at 6 p.m., with the show and art auction to follow.

Tickets are $17 for adults and   $12 for children 10 and under, available at the Cherryville Artisans Shop, Frank’s General Store, Cherryville Emporium, Lumby Village Gallery and Lumby Health Food, or call (250) 547-0020 or (250) 547-2070.
