The first season of the Vernon Story Slam comes to an end Tuesday at Dorian’s Greek Taverna.

For the past four months, story tellers have been entertaining and competing for prizes on the second Tuesday of each month.

Now, the top two story tellers from each event will meet in a grand slam-off to end the season.

“The first season of the Vernon Story Slam has been a great success, with participants and winners sharing over $600 in prize money,” said Marv Machura, a local singer-songwriter, who has organized the slam with the community-minded owners of Dorian’s Greek Taverna.

“We’ve have had fun running this first season of the story slam and are looking forward to season two, set to start this coming September.”

Doors to Tuesday’s story slam open at 7 p.m. Dorian’s is located at 3224 30th Ave., Vernon.
