Concerts, workshops and entertainment, including an open stage, trade show – even a first-ever accordion parade – are featured in this year’s instalment of the Victoria Accordion Festival, set for July 14 to 17.

Headliners for the event include legendary jazz accordionist Frank Marocco and acclaimed classical accordionist Jelena Milojevic, who lives in Greater Victoria.

Also, for the first time, the event will see a competition of accordion orchestras on the schedule, with groups from Calgary, Edmonton and Victoria vying for more than $10 000 in prizes and trophies

Bonnie Birch and her trio from Seattle will provide the music for a dance night July 15.

Tickets are on sale for individual performances, or in a four-day package price of $68, a savings of $13 over the single prices.
