White Rock love story wins third place in video contest

Ann and Bill Breaks' nearly 70-year marriage was captured for United Way's Care to Change competition

A short film centering on the long-lasting love of a White Rock couple has snagged third place in a video competition.

The Love Story of Ann and Bill Breaks by Crescent Beach resident Harrison McDonald and Christabel Slater focuses on the nearly 70-year marriage between the two seniors and was created through the Reel Youth and Revera’s Age is More Film Program, which teams up youth with seniors to create films.

The film was one of 71 sent in to United Way’s third annual Care to Change video competition  and was selected as a winner in the adult category on Feb. 16 at a red-carpet event and screening.
