This is weekend marks the end of a fantastic season of dance for Urban Dance Connection.

Join the celebration at the Tidemark Theatre on Saturday and Sunday for the year end recital Through the Kaleidoscope which will showcase the UDC Performance and Competitive teams as well as the dancers from the recreational and preschool programs.

This has been a season full of success and fun for the UDC dancers. The competitive dances season kicked off with the North Island Festival of the Performing Arts back in February. This competition awarded the teams with two Most Entertaining awards.  Garnet Nicolle received this award for her Ballet Solo and Michelle Devra for her Hip Hop Solo.  Teegan Stoudt was awarded the Most Promising Ballerina Award and Melinda Coetzee was chosen as a provincial representative for Ballet. Coetzee spent this past week at the BC Performing Arts Festival in Chilliwack. These awards were the icing on the cake after taking the stage for over 80 successful performances at the Festival.

This year also holds the success of the UDC presentation of  Our Alice  – A Story of Wonderland, the UDC Gala, CDTA Ballet Exams and competitions in Nanaimo; The Upper Island Music Festival and Core Dance. These were very busy, but exciting times for the dancers.

UDC will be training dancers over the summer in their summer camps and welcoming exciting new teachers in the Fall.

Public Registration for Summer and Fall Programs will be held at their studio on June 18 from 4-7 p.m.
