Two popular bands of yore are coming to the Okanagan this spring.
Tickets are now on sale for Texas blues band ZZ Top and British prog-rockers Yes, who both play at Kelowna’s Prospera Place in March.
ZZ Top, aka “that little ol’ band from Texas,” lay undisputed claim to being the longest running major rock band with original personnel intact.
In 2004, the Texas trio was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Billy F. Gibbons, Dusty Hill, and Frank Beard have produced more than 40 years of rock, blues, and boogie on the road and in the studio.
“We’re the same three guys, bashing out the same three chords,” said Gibbons.
In turn, the iconic and Grammy-winning rock band Yes will bring their triple header concert tour to Canada by performing three of their classic albums —1971’s The Yes Album, 1972’s Close To The Edge, and 1977’s Going For The One— in their entirety, all in one concert.
Music audiences across Canada will experience the albums, each representing an important milestone in Yes’ career, which encompasses sales of close to 50 million albums worldwide, performed from beginning to end.
ZZ Top plays March 20, while Yes plays March 21. Both shows are at Prospera Place.
