Jon Buller and his band are back home in Vernon to host another Hear the Music Night.
This Sunday’s performance at the Performing Arts Centre will be the 12th Hear the Music Night held in Vernon over the last five years.
Coming on the heels of the Good Friday service hosted by the churches of Vernon at the Wesbild Centre, Buller says Hear the Music Night is the perfect opportunity for people to explore faith in an environment that is exciting, accessible, inclusive and filled with inspiring rockin’ music.
“With an average attendance of about 800 people at each event, it is proving to be a popular gathering for people in the valley that love music, want to explore faith, or just like modern rocking tunes with a positive message,” said Buller, a Juno nominee and Covenant Award winning Christian recording artist and the founder of Hear the Music Night.
In the past, Hear the Music has hosted recording artists such as Andrew Allen, Starfield, Fresh I.E., Amanda Falk and Steve Bell.
More recently, HTM awarded the first annual Christy Maygard Memorial Scholarship, with more than $,1000 value, to Shelley Potts, a deserving young budding musician.
Buller and the Hear the Music band also spent three weeks on tour throughout Western Canada.
For this event, Buller will welcome more young musicians to share the stage with him, including Dan Oldfield, Aaron French, Cole Friesen, Clare Miller and Katie Warden.
Opening for Buller will be Friesen and a team of gifted young musicians.
“Hear the Music is not just an event with faith-based music that points to Jesus. It is about training and developing young musicians to use their gifts and talents to do good things and bring a positive message to their world,” said Buller. “That’s why I’m excited to involve not only my touring band but other teen-aged musicians that are passionate about their faith and incredibly gifted at making music.”
