Singer, song writer and multi-instrumentalist Andi-Lyn Krieger will perform songs from her debut CD “Talking To The Moon” on Thursday at Serious Coffee in Willow Point.

Adopting a singer-songwriter style, Krieger’s stripped back acoustic sound has been compared to Sheryl Crow and Colbie Caillat.

This 17-year-old Carihi Secondary graduate not only sings and plays guitar, but she recorded and produced the album herself as a school project.

“I couldn’t have done it without the mentorship of Bill Young who was there throughout the process and Jim Vining who shared his knowledge and musicianship,” says Krieger.

Krieger is a born and raised Riverite who has always shown a passion for music. She started with piano at the age of six and from there branched out into strings, bass, violin, bag pipe, guitar and drums.

Krieger has spent seven years with the Campbell River Children’s Choir, where she had an opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall. Additionally, she has spent two years under the tutelage of Campbell River guitar virtuoso Rodrigo.

Krieger has proved her song writing and performing abilities with a third place at Courtenay’s 2012 Battle of the Bands, earning herself and her band the opening slot at Canada Day.

Linda Riddell at Serious Coffee has gratefully provided a venue for Krieger to perform at, a stage that has hosted a large share of young talented local artists.

The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at Serious Coffee and Music Plant for $8 or $12 at the door. Her CD will also be available that evening.
