An anti-bullying presentation designed for those who work with children with special needs is taking place in Surrey on Thursday.
Presented by the Learning Disabilities Association – Fraser South and Harriette Chang and based on the work of Cindi Seddon of Bully Beware Productions, the event will address the types of bullying, signs to watch for in children and students, how is manifests with special needs children, when to get help, and more.
Parents, teachers and support staff who work with kids with Asperger syndrome, ADHD, learning disabilities or other needs are encouraged to attend. Participants will lean strategies and skills to recognize bullying, how to deal with it as both a victim and bully, and how parents and caregivers can deal with it if bullying is impacting their child’s life.
The talk, called Bullying Hurts, and Keeps on Hurting, takes place Feb. 20, 7-9 p.m. at Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary, 6151 180 St.
