The Parksville Library will be hosting an author reading event at the Parksville main branch on January 26, at 6:30 p.m.
Award-winning authors George Szanto and Jerry Auld will be on hand to read from their latest work.
Auld and Szanto have been receiving a lot of interest over their novels. Hooker & Brown by Jerry Auld is based on a true story from the Rocky Mountains. It is the first novel for Auld and it was shortlisted for the 2009 Boardman Tasker Prize. Auld’s short stories have been published in Alpinist Magazine and in the Canadian Alpine Journal.
The Tartarus House on Crab is written by George Szanto, a Gabriola Island resident and author of numerous books. A National Magazine Award recipient and winner of the Hugh MacLennan Prize for fiction, Szanto is the author of several books of essays and half a dozen novels. See both authors Thursday, Jan. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the main branch of the Parksville Library.
