BC Arts Council
The BC Arts Council is accepting applications for several project-assistance funding programs until Monday, April 3, 2017.
B.C. artists, arts organizations, band councils, friendship centres and not-for-profit community groups may be eligible to apply to one of the following grant programs:
* Arts-Based Community Development – assists with projects that create new work, produce events and/or develop skills, resource materials or transfer knowledge.
* Leon and Thea Koerner Award – supports B.C. charitable arts and social service organizations that collaborate on projects that develop lasting social benefits to communities by offering up to three awards of at least $25,000 each.
* Touring Initiatives – supports B.C. artists and arts organizations undertaking touring activities outside the province that lead to professional opportunities.
* Professional Development – assists professional artists and arts administrators with activities linked to the next stage of their professional development.
The Government of British Columbia is investing approximately $60 million in arts and culture in 2017-18 to further support a thriving creative economy.
Within this funding, the BC Arts Council is providing $24 million to help artists and cultural organizations flourish in more than 200 communities throughout the province. The BC Arts Council draws upon the expertise of British Columbia’s arts and culture community to provide an independent peer-review adjudication process.
