Classic cars will be on display once again as the Lake Country Custom and Classic Car Show brings vintage vehicles together this summer.
“This will be the sixth year for the car show in Lake Country and each year it gets bigger,” said show manager Ron Volk, who runs the event with his wife Kathy, along with Mark Jones. “We are expecting up to 400 cars this year and more than 4,000 people to go through the park on Sunday.”
This year’s show runs for two days, Aug. 23 and 24. The Saturday features a parade around Lake Country, with cars assembling on Main Street starting at 3:30 p.m. and the parade starting at 5 p.m.
After the parade the cars will return to Swalwell Park where there will be food vendors set up along with entertainment.
Sunday’s portion of the show is at Swalwell Park from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and features food vendors and the band Flashback playing.
Every car registered will have a chance to win the $1,000 grand prize and also one of many door prizes.
Lake Country Customs and Classics is a non-profit organization which donates all profits to charity organizations in Lake Country. Last year, $7,000 was donated towards the new building for the Lake Country Food Bank.
