Enderby Lions support Special Olympics

The Special-Olympics Vernon fundraising volunteers have received a boost for their program

The Enderby Lions Club has always supported charities throughout the North Okanagan and this year’s donation of $1,000 was recently welcomed by the Vernon Special Olympics fundraising volunteers.

Wilf Courtemanche recently presented a cheque to Yvonne Feedham from SOBC-Vernon at the Book Warehouse in the Alpine Centre, which raises funds for the charity with ongoing book sales.

“Funds are used to buy much-needed equipment, pay for the rental of sports facilities, send athletes to competitions and other needs,” said Britta Gretzmacher, public relations, SOBC-Vernon. “SOBC-Vernon supports more than 140 athletes of all ages with intellectual disabilities in 14 different sports and with an emphasis on enriching lives through positive sports experience.”
