Buddhist monk Gen Kelsang Sanden is known for his sense of humour, warmth and clarity of his teachings.

On May 10, he will bring all of that to a one-day course at the Village Green Hotel, where he will guide participants towards creating positive change in the world, in “A Joyful Life — the Bodhisattva’s Way.”

A Bodhisattva is an everyday person, who strives to live compassionately and joyfully, helping others and the world around them to flourish.

“In this course, we will learn how to incorporate this positive way of living, no matter what our lifestyle, whether we are a student, a parent, working or retired — to confidently live a life of great meaning and joy,” said Karen Goodwin, with the Dorjechang Kadampa Buddhist Centre, which is presenting the workshop. “During this special event we will receive teachings and meditations on the Bodhisattva’s way of life, with an opportunity to take Bodhisattva vows.”

The workshop takes place May 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Village Green Hotel, 4801- 27th St. Cost is $35 ($40 at the door). For centre card holders, cost is $5 or $10 at the door. To register, go to www.dorjechang.ca or call 250-558-0952. No fragrance please.
