Pumpkin picking is becoming a tradition for more and more families across the valley.
This weekend, Davison Orchards is hosting its annual Family Pumpkin Festival, featuring entertainment, U-Pick Pumpkin Tours, and everything pumpkin to eat.
“We have been hearing from our customers that they look forward to this event all year,” says Tamra Davison, marketing director at Davison Orchards. “The kids love the tractor ride, and a chance to choose their very own pumpkin, and the parents love the photo-ops and the educational aspect of seeing how pumpkins are grown.”
Davison Orchards is pumpkin central with literally thousands of pumpkins in all shapes sizes and even a few different colours.
The entertainment side of the event features young local talent from the 29th Street Music School who will be performing throughout the day. Local students who are known as the Mojom Circus will be showing off their juggling skills as well as holding juggling workshops at 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Other free entertainment includes a kids’ storytime with a harvest tale featuring Spookly the pumpkin, free playgrounds, a field maze, pumpkin tic–tac-toe and of course, a chance to visit the farm animals.
On top of the entertainment there will also be pumpkin treats of all kinds available. Carry on a tradition, or start a new one by joining the fun at the Family Pumpkin Festival at Davison Orchards.
The festival starts today and continues Saturday and Oct. 24 and 26. For more information, see www.davisonorchards.ca
