From 1860 to 1864, John and Oliver Jeffereys drove thousands of head of longhorn cattle from Arkansas to the Cariboo.
They provided meat and supplies to fur traders and the Cariboo Gold Rush miners. The Jeffereys brothers operated their property, known as 100 Mile Roadhouse, until 1864, when it was sold to Uriah Nelson (source: BC Provincial Archives).
Michelle Loughery painted the mural, on the south wall of A&B Photo at 330 Birch Ave, with the assistance of 100 Mile artist Michelle Hedges.
