Mission Library shows InsideOut

The InsideOut project is on display at Mission Library.

A series of portraits at Mission Library is part of its newest public art display.

The InsideOut Global Art Project was created by French street artist JR, who is best known for his large-scale portraits pasted to building exteriors around the world. This initiative is an opportunity for Mission residents to do the same.

Take a digital portrait, upload it to the InsideOut website, and a poster is sent to display.

“The library believes in literacy for all,” says Mission librarian Diana Marshall. “We welcome everyone, so I approached folks inside the library and asked if they would like to participate. The photos in our windows are just people who happened to be in the branch at the same moment. Each person has a different purpose and takes something unique from the library — it is the ideal place to become who you want to be.”

For more information visit the library, located at 33279 Second Ave, or go to www.fvrl.ca or www.insideoutproject.net.
