The Greater Vernon Museum & Archives is holding a sale of books and records Sept. 18 and 19.

Museum is overflowing with books

Books and records — including vinyl — will all be on sale at bargain prices; stock up your bookshelves and help out the museum

Due to a full house of vendors at its Antiques and Collectibles Show and Sale this past spring, the Greater Vernon Museum and Archives removed its usual book sale from the event.

“With a large number of books set aside we decided to host a stand-alone book sale at the museum next weekend during our regular hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.,” said Denise Marsh, marketing and communications coordinator for the museum. “We’ve also expanded the sale to include vinyl records as well as music in all its formats.”

So whether your tastes run to James Joyce or Maeve Binchy, if you’re ready to stock up on books for fall, the museum is the place to be.

If you have books you’ve read or books that are taking up valuable square footage or are downsizing or possibly need to make room so you can purchase some new books, you can still donate your used books to the museum anytime between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday.

All proceeds from the sale of the books and records will support the museum archives. For more information, please call 250-542-3142.
