Nelson Wins Total Makeover Challenge

The challenge, organized by the Shape Your World Society, has now culminated in a winner being declared at May 14th’s event at Phoenix Restaurant, Abbotsford.

Jennifer Nelson was selected as the overall winner of the Total Makeover Challenge. The Total Makeover Challenge started with 50 participants at the beginning of the year.

They have been hitting the gym hard, and each has lost 10 to 25 pounds and several inches.

The group’s first challenge was the Amazing Race on Feb. 15, which resulted in them raising just over $1,800 for the Abbotsford Food Bank.

The second challenge was a 4.4 km run around Mill Lake on March 8 which raised $3,425 for the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation in support of the pediatric comfort fund.

The top 10 were announced at that event: Sabrina Cartwright, Starlene Lowe, Karen Dykeshoorn, Brianna Lehan, Jennifer Nelson, Brittany Linde, Charissa Heppner, Laura Carver, Andrea Chapman and Larissa Winkler.

The 10 semi-finalists attended a series of educational workshops on topics such as Money Smarts and Dress Your Shape, and were treated to perks such as makeup, tanning, nail design and photo shoots.

Online voting to select the final five ran April 10 to 15 at abbynews.com. Also taken into consideration are points collection and sponsor input.

The five finalists and a “wild card” was announced at a night of fashion at the Phoenix Lounge on Wednesday, April 16. The top five included; Sabrina Cartwright, Starlene Lowe, Brianna Lehan, Jennifer Nelson, and Brittany Linde.

This contest generated the most response ever recorded at abbynews.com with more than 40,000 votes in total.
