Kwantlen Polytechnic University Foundation’s Board of Directors announced the appointment of Ken Hahn as chair at their annual general meeting.

Hahn, who has served on the foundation board since 2004, succeeds Christine Brodie, the foundation’s long-serving chair.

Hahn was appointed to Kwantlen’s Board of Governors on Oct. 18, 2001, and completed his six-year term on July 31, 2008.

He brings leadership expertise as a community volunteer and executive.

Now retired, Hahn was the former senior vice president of human resources for Coast Capital Savings and was the vice president of the Richmond Savings Credit Union.

Previous to those positions he was with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce for over 20 years. Hahn serves on the BC Credit Union Employees’ Pension & Benefits Trust and formerly served as a director of the Surrey Chamber of Commerce and Board of the BC Human Resources Management Association.

The foundation board also elected Wayne McKay as a new board director for a three-year term.
