1911 Members of the motor boat club and others are asked to attend a meeting to be held on Thursday, June 8, to discuss the advisability of holding and make arrangements for holding a regatta at Salmon Arm in the very near future, as well as transact other general business. If a regatta is to be held this year it is important that there be good attendance at this meeting.

1921 The adjourned annual general meeting of the Salmon Arm Association was held in the Leonard Hall on Saturday afternoon with president A.A. Brooke in the chair. The general purpose of the meeting was to discuss the feasibility of forming an organization to render more efficient service to dairymen and others throughout the district, in the marketing of their hay and general farm produce and in their purchase of flour, seed, etc. The result of that meeting is yet to come.

1931 In compliance with  numerous requests from farmers in various parts of the province for the finding of water on their farms, the department of agriculture has engaged the services of Miss E.M. Penrose, who is an expert with wide experience and success in water divining. Miss Penrose will be in the Okanagan district for the next two weeks and any who wish this service should get in touch immediately with their local district agriculturist.

Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Woods, Shuswap Avenue will celebrate their fiftieth anniversary of marriage on Sunday next.

1941 May 24, “Torch Day,” saw one of the largest parades ever formed in Salmon Arm make its way from the public school grounds to the sports grounds by a devious route which covered Okanagan Street, Shuswap Avenue, Front Street, Alexander Avenue, First Street  and thence the  sports grounds.

All participants seem to feel that the parade was hugely successful.
