With “How Dreams Lead to Success” as their topic, secondary students throughout the North Okanagan entered the recent North Okanagan Optimist Club’s annual Essay Contest.
At its April meeting, the club presented awards to the top three winners in the contest, which is open to all high school students in the North Okanagan.
The top essay, written by Carly Pullin, was submitted to the District Essay Contest, where she stands to win a $2,500 scholarship. The second place essay was written by Kassandra Harder and third place essay was submitted by Laura Hulstein.
“Local winners were presented with certificates and monetary awards,” said Lesley Hayes, with the North Okanagan Optimist Club.
