Well-known genealogist Dave Obee is a guest of the March 22 seminar hosted by the Vernon & District Family History Society

With 12 books compiled for Canadian family historians, Dave Obee knows a thing or two about genealogy.

The editor-in-chief of the Victoria Times-Colonist is a guest of the Vernon & District Family History Society on Saturday for a family research seminar.

A genealogical researcher, Obee has given more than 400 presentations  at conferences and seminars in North America since 1997. He is a columnist for Internet Genealogy and Family Chronicle and is a member of the advisory board for Ancestry.ca. In 2012, he was awarded an honorary doctor of laws by the University of Victoria in recognition of his work as a genealogist, journalist and historian.
