Santa gears up for Toy Run

Santas Anonymous is ready for the 27th Annual North Okanagan Motorcycle Toy Run

It’s only August, but Santa is already looking ahead to his busy season.

And on Sept. 13, Santa will be in his usual spot on his motorcycle, with Rudolph in the sidecar, taking part in the 27th Annual North Okanagan Motorcycle Toy Run to help needy kids.

Everyone participating is asked to bring a toy, which will be given to Santas Anonymous to distribute to needy kids at Christmas, birthdays and all year long.

“All toys are welcome, but what we really need right now are educational toys for kids ages six to 12,” said Rick Trehearne, president of Vernon-based Santas Anonymous.

Riders are asked to meet at the Kal Lake lookout at noon sharp for the ride to Lumby. There, they can enjoy great food provided by the Lumby Legion Ladies Auxiliary, a beer garden hosted by the Lumby Lions, door prizes and a 50/50 draw.
