It’s only September, but for Santas Anonymous, it’s the perfect time of year to start collecting toys for needy children throughout the North Okanagan.
The 23rd Annual North Okanagan Motorcycle Toy Run takes place Sunday, and riders are encouraged to grab a toy and meet at the Kal Lake Lookout at noon sharp, for the ride to Lumby.
“All toys are appreciated, but educational toys for children aged six to 12 are especially needed,” said Rick Trehearne, president of the Santas Anonymous Society. “This is always a fun event, and once we get to Lumby, we’ll have a beer garden hosted by the Lumby Lions, door prizes — lots — a 50/50 draw and great food served up by the Lumby Legion Ladies Auxiliary. I’d also like to give a shout out to the Eagles, as they have been a big supporter of Santas over the years.”
Santas Anonymous provides toys to children ages birth to 12 years for birthdays throughout the year and at Christmas. For more information, please call 250-542-4448.
