Save your used stamps and support cancer patients

Funds are raised collecting used postage stamps that are turned into the Kamloops Chapter of the Cancer Society

Maureen Williams collects used stamps to help cancer patients in need of new bandages throughout B.C.

In order to raise funds for this project, members of The BC and Yukon Order of the Eastern Star, the women’s section of the Free Mason Society, collect used postage stamps that are turned into the Kamloops Chapter of the Cancer Society.

They, in turn, sell them to a collecting agency that sells them to Stamp collectors to create funds to purchase the bandages.

Williams also collects the stamps and has collection boxes for stamps at the Church of St Paul in Barriere.  Then she picks up the stamps and personally delivers them to the Kamloops chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Only actual stamps can be used, not pre-paid postage stamps.

At this time of the year, more letters and cards are mailed, and therefore more stamps are used.

It would be great if mail recipients collected the stamps and contribute them to this a fundraising project for the BC Cancer Society.
