Seniors invited to Easter celebration

We Care Home Health Services is inviting the senior community to attend a 2011 Easter Celebration Luncheon, Wednesday at noon at the Schubert Centre.

This inaugural event is to showcase the company’s appreciation to North Okanagan seniors and is free to everyone aged 65 and up on a first come, first served basis. People interested in attending should call We Care at 250-542-9717 to reserve their tickets. The fun includes an Easter lunch, entertainment, prizes, exciting displays and more.

We Care is proud to be a part of the North Okanagan and this is their way of giving back.

“We have achieved milestones within the We Care business, and we just want to celebrate and give back to our clients, friends and the general community as much as we can,” said Holly Mayfair, owner of We Care Home Health Services.

We Care is excited to announce many community events throughout the year — everything from luncheons, wine and cheese receptions, wellness fairs, to picnics in the park.

“Thanks to all of our new and exciting partnerships with other local businesses we are able to offer these events,” said Mayfair.

Businesses that have generously contributed to the Easter luncheon are VantageOne Credit Union, Tim Hortons, Home for Dinner, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Canadian Hearing, Coldstream Meadows, Driving Ms. Daisy, Hogarths Pharmacy, Remax – Sandra Bradley and more.

“And a big thank you to the Schubert Centre for all of their help with this celebration,” said Mayfair.

We Care employs more than 130 employees in the area, and provides affordable health services to all ages. We Care was also recently awarded the “I Love Rewards 50 Most Engaged Workplace Award,” recognizing their commitment to creating an environment where engaged employees are truly appreciated.

Mayfair is pleased to announce the hiring of two business development managers. Heather Young comes from a background of 15 years in the home health services industry.

“It is definitely a company that I am very honoured to work for,” said Young. “The current health service shortage creates a demand for our services. I am confident that We Care plays a leading role in offering what our clients need. It’s truly a company that genuinely cares.”

Jennifer Strachan comes from a 14- year marketing and event planning background.

“I am so pleased to be a part of the We Care team,” she said. “We are implementing a lot of unique and exciting community projects. Stay tuned; we have a very exciting announcement in just a couple of weeks.”

If you are a business that would like to participate in future events, or donate a prize to help give back to the senior community, please call Strachan at 250-309-7573 or e-mail jennifer.wecare@telus.net.

Whether you need help with a loved one for just an hour, a shopping friend, or a live-in health care provider, We Care will customize your service to fulfill your needs. We Care also offers management of facilities and partners with many other agencies to provide home health care to the community.
