Two Air Cadets from 222 Shuswap Squadron received Long Service Medals from a National Governor of the Air Cadet League in a ceremony at the squadron on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

The medals, marking four years of continuous, exemplary service, were presented by Lt.-Col. (Ret.) Don Doern in front of the Air Cadet Squadron.

The recipients, flight sergeants Jackson Calvert and Tyler Lamarre, have each logged nearly five years of service with Air Cadets and hold senior appointments within 222 Squadron.

Cadets were urged to “spread the word” about the advantages of membership, which is offered at no cost to young people aged 12-18.

A variety of paid summer courses is offered, ranging from survival to leadership, to gliding and private pilot licensing.

The squadron can be contacted at fan@222air.com.
