The Burns Bog Conservation Society is set to host The Stepping into Nature Festival, aimed at helping students learn and connect with nature.
The event – set for 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Oct. 1, 2, 8 and 9 – will see more than 400 local Grade 6 and 7 students will take part in a full day of hands-on activities at the Delta Nature Reserve (10388 Nordel Court), which is on the edge of Burns Bog.
The event is hosted by a number of local environmental organizations – Cougar Creek Streamkeepers, Earthwise, Northwest Wildlife Preservation Society, Urban Safari and Critter Care – and aims to encourage good environmental stewardship among young students.
