If you’re interested in bringing laughter and joy to those who need cheering up, then the Kalamalka Caring Klowns needs you.
Kalamalka Caring Klowns of Vernon and area is looking for caring and compassionate people who would like to become therapy clowns. Therapeutic clowns visit in the hospital and nursing homes, as well as take part in various community events. Their mandate is “to bring laughter and joy to those who are not feeling happy or those who may be feeling stressed.
“It is a proven fact that laughter has both psychological and physiological benefits that aid in the feeling of well-being,” said Valerie Lynch (Munga A. Klown) and Doris Bensmiller (Bubbles).
KCK will hold a weekend workshop Oct. 14 to 16 at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital education room. The workshop runs Oct. 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Oct. 15 and 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., both days.
Pre-registration is mandatory, and the cost includes all course material and a small make-up kit.
