Last year, the Summerland Credit Union donated $5,000 to the District of Summerland to purchase new trees. It was part of a campaign to encourage members to switch from paper statements to e-statements.
For every person that switched, the Credit Union donated $10 to the “tree fund.”
The municipality has ordered a total of eight trees which have been planted at Peach Orchard Park and around the ball field at Living Memorial Park on Snow Avenue.
