Parents looking for an alternative to public school for their children might want to consider the benefits of Vernon Christian School VCS).
An intimate school setting, academic excellence and a Christ-centred education are just a few things the school will provide. The school offers classes for students from pre-school to Grade 12. Full and half-day kindergarten is available at the elementary campus.
VCS has a 35-year history in the community. Over the years, the school has grown from one class of 33 students to two campuses with more than 300 students. Ten years after the school’s opening in 1977, it had grown to a student population of 116 students.
Steve Onsorge, lead principal at the school, firmly believes that the teaching staff is one of the school’s main strengths.
“We have a caring, involved faculty,” he said. “They know the students and strive to challenge them individually and walk alongside them when needed.”
Onsorge warmly welcomes curious parents to come in and check out all the school has to offer.
“If any parent is wondering about the benefits of VCS, I would welcome them to give us a call,” he said. “We will provide a tour and an opportunity to anwer any questions a prospective parent might have.”
