More than 160 families have chosen Vernon Christian School as the school of choice for their children.
And the parents of VCS would like to extend an invite to local families to come and consider these opportunities at the upcoming Showcase on Wednesday.
“Christian education has been criticized as sheltering children from the real world, but that is not the case at Vernon Christian School,” said Matt Driediger, Secondary Campus principal. “Rather, we are preparing students to engage in the world and training them to make wise choices in their lives.
“Through all of our programs and practices at VCS, our goal is to mentor students, to help them establish their identity and place in the world. Our community is here to walk beside families as they equip their children to face the very real challenges of this culture.”
Driediger adds that VCS has a 37-year history in the community.
“I would encourage curious parents to come, ask their questions and receive the first-hand information needed to make such an important decision for their family,” he said.
Other VCS highlights include a middle school program that is geared to supporting the specific needs of Grade 7 to 9 students, an on-site preschool, worship-arts program, service opportunities, drama, apprenticeship and work place experience, leading edge technology and a fully equipped wood and auto program.
All are welcome to drop by the VCS Showcase on Wednesday at 5 p.m. to meet the staff, members of the school community and enjoy a few treats prepared by a local chef. A special invite is extended to alumni.
VCS welcomes students from preschool to Grade 12 and is at 6890 Pleasant Valley Rd.
